VisualSP, the help system for SharePoint now includes several new features. Businesses of all types, with a serious commitment to SharePoint, should consider adding VisualSP to drive end user adoption of the SharePoint computing experience. The new features of our product promise to enable our customers to successfully capture a handsome return on their investment.

VisualSP, version 4.5.0, is installed via an executable. The application includes a number of wizards. These routines check to ensure the required components of a successful installation are all in place, before an attempt to install the product is undertaken. So the installation process of this latest release of our product will be an easier process for our customers.

We’ve added a set of controls to our system. These controls can be used to encourage system users to add custom training content to our help system. Adding and editing any of this custom content is now a simpler process. Administrators can access these controls from a SharePoint 2010, or 2013, ribbon within the Site Setting screens at the Site Collection level. The controls have been built to support our customers as they quickly add custom content to the system. In fact, system content items can be copied, thereby hastening the process of adding specific recurring details (such as “Scopes”) for new help content items.

Our system can be used to expose training content for any of the language packs available for SharePoint 2010 or 2013. The process of translating content titles and descriptions is quite manageable. I used Google Translate to add French and Spanish titles and descriptions for 81 content items in less than 5 hours. I found the copy feature to be very useful for my task as I did not have to copy the same links, and/or icons as I created versions of the items for these languages.

If your organization has not yet heard about our VisualSP Help System for SharePoint, you may want to take a look at our webpage presentation. Certainly contact me if you would like a demonstration of the product. I will be happy to provide you with one.
